Things to Ponder Before Rearranging your Home Design

Many of us think that we have this talent in interior designing especially in our own home. But there are also some problems that arise unintentionally. And so I will be giving you some simple solutions to help you reorganize your home before rearranging your design.

-  Stay within your color palette, but don't be afraid to gently mix textures, patterns or new furniture.   You can add    new designs, tables or ornaments to compliment your sofa which is the center and main piece in the living room.
 - Move things around so that what you’ll know what else is needed before purchasing any furniture.
-   Do not over accessorize your new designs. Remember, the eye needs places to rest. A few bare  spots are essential; if everything is noticeable, then nothing is.
-  In adding new furniture - add a side trunk or storage trunk. All of these newspapers, magazines, toys, unopened mails, etc. needs to be in one place or hidden in any case of unexpected guests arrive. It is much more peaceful if you're not tripping over toys or coming home every day to what it feels like in a disaster area.
-  Ask an expert and check other designs on internet or magazine.
- Pick a good quality of furniture. It is alright to spend a little more money as long as it last longer

It is important that you organize first in your head what are things you need to purchase because maybe only a little arrangement is the only solution to have a new and fresh atmosphere in your home.

Leather Storage Trunks Today

Storage trunks historical moments started in Egypt going back in somewhat few centuries ago. Normally used as a baggage as a traveling chest before, storage trunks had also evolved its usage and exterior.  Different styles of trunks nowadays are developing and many designers are smearing some creative ideas like adding more storage or just being more innovative in applying those animal hides. Generally the interior box of storage trunks are made of a wood and then lined with materials intended to protect and decorate.

Leather trunks were being common during the 1600s and 1700s and as people’s tastes and ideas in leather furniture grow, recent trunks were being now covered in canvas or some metallic designs such as adding brass add-ons like poppers and clasps embossed in storage trunks. Many manufacturers would come up with further methods just to distinguish or differentiate their trunks, by which they normally include extra compartments making it either more or less complicated to open up and closing the trunks. Nevertheless, consumers recently demand more of a light-weight piece of baggage to carry and so companies nowadays came up in different sizes and types of wood.

Storage trunks today are typically being just used at home, normally for storage or being used as an add-on decoration in living room or bedroom.  Most flat-top trunks, or steamer trunks, were designed to makes these pieces of luggage easier to store while traveling or simply used in the at home these days in living room as a side table or else in the bedroom for keeping things.

Talking Over the Coffee Table

Coffee tables are one of the essential pieces of furniture that are normally seen in living rooms. They are normally used as a center table and a convenient place for serving coffee or tea to visitors. Traditionally, coffee tables are constructed to level with the seat cushions of surrounding sofas and chairs and nowadays have many wide ranges to fit into several decorating styles.

Coffee tables has evolved its styles, many designers came up with enhancing coffee tables by adding some additional storage, shortened legs, turning old trunks into a coffee table or making it look like one. Although they do not often drive the design of a room, they can be a statement piece or at least a harmonious companion to the surrounding furniture. A good talk over a coffee or tea is better with nice and classy coffee table.

One guideline is that a coffee table should be about the same height or one or two inches lower than the seat height of the sofa. Traditional coffee table tends to be short and rectangular in dimensions. The width should be determined by how much room you have between the soft upholstered pieces and the table in your seating arrangement to at least align its width with your sofa. This allows the table to serve as a low table for coffee or tea or even to find a comfortable and cozy spot to share and enjoy a meal.
